LeBron James’ free agency upon leaving the Los Angeles Lakers has been the biggest talking point of the NBA offseason.
James has five teams on his shortlist, including the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Philadelphia 76ers, and the Miami Heat.
His return to the Heat became a realistic option after they traded for Giannis Antetokounmpo from the Milwaukee Bucks.
A big three of James, Antetokounmpo, and Bam Adebayo would make them one of the leading Eastern Conference contenders.
However, if the Heat cannot sign their former star, they will reportedly turn their attention to Russell Westbrook.

Russell Westbrook emerges as an alternative to LeBron James in free agency
Russell Westbrook is also a free agent after his one-year contract with the Sacramento Kings expired this summer.
Like most championship-less superstars, Westbrook would ideally like to join a contending team next season.
The 37-year-old has already played for seven teams in his 18-year NBA career, and the Miami Heat could be next.
According to the New York Post, “Russell Westbrook is a candidate to join the Heat but not if LeBron signs in Miami.”
Westbrook and James played together with the Los Angeles Lakers for 18 months before the point guard was traded.
Given that both players want the ball in their hands, it was not a natural fit, and Westbrook was demoted to the bench.
Therefore, Westbrook would be a decent alternative to James in Miami rather than a complementary piece.
He averaged 15.2 points per game with the Kings last season, making him a worthwhile addition for the Heat.
