Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo allegedly punching former teammate Tyler Herro at Las Vegas Summer League has been a bizarre development, but the proof might be out there.
Adebayo reportedly had a public spat with Herro at Summer League, which ended with Adebayo ‘punching’ his former teammate over leaked social media conversations.
This situation is reminiscent of the 2022 spat between Warriors players Draymond Green and Jordan Poole, with the difference being that an explosive video of the incident hasn’t leaked online. But that doesn’t mean that the video doesn’t exist.
ESPN insider mentions the truth might be on surveillance video
ESPN insider Tim MacMahon, who was also present at Summer League, joked about the actual interaction while wondering where the surveillance footage of that incident is.
“I hope that surveillance video will be seen; maybe it could be part of the tribute video when Tyler Herro returns to Milwaukee.”
MacMahon implied that the video might actually settle debates on the severity of the punch or the shove, while mentioning how this is a lighter incident than the Green-Poole situation from 2022.
“Clearly, it was just a love tap from Bam because look at Bam’s arms. Come on now. If Bam wanted to wind up and throw a punch, this is going to be a Draymond on Jordan Poole type of situation.”

With how organizations like TMZ eventually get their hands on such videos, everyone will be waiting to see if there is video confirmation of how the alleged punch went down, if it was a punch at all.
MacMahon does seem to imply that people’s imaginations might be getting too far ahead of them if they’re equating this to what happened between Poole and Green in the past.
While this is definitely not a tame situation for former teammates to be in, it might not be as explosive as people have been led to believe over the last week.
