Manchester City are facing a battle to keep hold of Julian Alvarez this summer.

The reigning champions are biding their time in the transfer market with the £30million signing of Savinho the only deal completed so far.

Pep Guardiola’s update on Manchester City‘s transfer business might not excite fans, with the Spaniard stating there is a 95 percent chance they will have the same squad next season.

But while news on arrivals has been slow, City’s hands are full trying to keep hold of Julian Alvarez.

As revealed by HITC, Alvarez has held talks with Atletico Madrid over a potential move as he targets more game time.

However, City have stayed firm on their stance that Alvarez is not for sale this summer with Premier League rivals Chelsea also interested in a deal.

Manchester City told to sell Jack Grealish

Amid interest in Alvarez this summer, City have been told by pundit Stewart Robson that there is one star they should consider selling ahead of Alvarez.

Speaking on ESPN, he said “If you were Manchester City, you’d look at Jack Grealish who has done nothing.

“I watched him in the last two games, he doesn’t go past anybody and doesn’t affect games.

“Julian Alvarez affects games. If you were looking to sell one of the players who doesn’t play regularly, Jack Grealish would be the player you’d sell rather than Alvarez.”

Jack Grealish’s future at Man City

Jack Grealish hasn’t set the Premier League alight since his £100million move to Manchester City.

The 28-year-old has won a bucket-load of trophies, including the treble, but he has sacrificed regular game time to achieve it.

He played just 1,001 minutes of Premier League action for City last season and he could start next season as an option from the bench.

A move away for Grealish could be best for both parties – but that still doesn’t fix City’s ongoing issue with Alvarez.
