Robert Lewandowski has been speaking in a press conference alongside Czeslaw Michniewicz, where Liverpool were mentioned.
What’s the story?
Well, Michniewicz was asked about the 33-year-old striker’s future, after he expressed a desire to leave Bayern Munich this summer.
Interestingly, the 52-year-old said he wants to see Lewandowski at Liverpool, as he’s a fan of the Reds.
As quoted by the Independent, Michniewicz said: “I’d like to see Lewandowski in Liverpool since I’m a supporter of the club.”
It comes after Polish news outlet Interia Sport claimed that Liverpool had made an approach for Lewandowski, a player who Jürgen Klopp called the best player he’s even managed.
Therefore, the rumour definitely has some substance about it.
In our view, Lewandowski could also be used in a deal involving Sadio Mane, after the Senegal international expressed a desire to leave Anfield.
Bayern Munich – as well as Real Madrid – are said to be interested in Mane.
Tottenham won’t be happy if Robert Lewandowski joins Liverpool

In our view, Spurs won’t be too pleased by Michniewicz’s comments, as they are hoping to win the race to sign Lewandowski.
It has been said that Antonio Conte wants to bring the Poland international to the Premier League, and pair him with Harry Kane up top.
Now, that would be a mouthwatering partnership, to say the least.
In 46 appearances this season, Lewandowski scored 50 goals, whereas Kane netted 27 goals in 50 appearances.

With Heung-min Son also in the attack, Spurs would be a real force.
However, after Michniewicz nudged the 33-year-old in the direction of Merseyside, Conte’s bid to sign the Pole may have now suffered a blow.
Ultimately, it seems Barcelona are the biggest threat, with some sources claiming that Lewandowski wants to join Xavi at the Camp Nou.
Keep an eye on this saga, as this could be among the biggest stories of the summer transfer window.
