When Jürgen Klopp has a player in his sights, Liverpool usually get them.
There was the elongated pursuit of Virgil van Dijk, which involved being reported to the Premier League by Southampton before the deal was put on ice until January.
Liverpool also beat Barcelona to the signing of Naby Keita, by agreeing to let him rejoin RB Leipzig on loan.
Now, Klopp is supposedly desperate to sign Jude Bellingham.
According to some sources, the Reds have lodged an enquiry about the England international, and now, the man himself has said something which should excite Liverpool supporters.
What’s the story?
Well, Bellingham has told the BVB-Podcast that he isn’t playing football to splash out on cars, jewellery, mansions and other luxuries.
Speaking to Borussia Dortmund, the 19-year-old said: “That kind of reaction to what you’ve managed to achieve is priceless really. You can have all the money you want from playing football, you can buy whatever you want, but being appreciated like that for creating so many memories for so many people, that lives longer than any car you could buy, or any house you could buy.
“That’s the thing that motivates me in football, to try and create memories that I’ll remember forever, but other people will remember forever.”
If that is the case, then what better place to spend your career than Liverpool?
It goes without saying that those who succeed at Anfield become immortalised in the club’s history, as the likes of Sir Kenny Dalglish, Ian Rush and others are often seen amongst the crowd at home games.

If not in person, then they remain present through the form of banners, flags and chants from the Kop End.
If appreciation and lifelong adoration is what Bellingham wants from football, he shouldn’t even think about going anywhere other than Liverpool.
Jude Bellingham seems to like Liverpool
In our view, this deal will happen next summer.
Bellingham is already good friends with Jordan Henderson, and it has been said that the teenager is interested in joining Liverpool.

However, if a deal does become possible, it is likely to cost the Reds at least £100m.
Having said that, for a player like Bellingham, who has 16 Champions League appearances and 15 England caps at the age of 19, it would definitely be worth it – he is heading for the very top.
