Liverpool fancy Jude Bellingham and his relationship with Jordan Henderson could help – but the wage demands involved are a huge problem.
Liverpool have secured their big-money signing for the summer having landed striker Darwin Nunez from Benfica in June.
Nunez arrives to replace Sadio Mane in Liverpool’s attack as he heads off for a new challenge with Bayern Munich.
Mohamed Salah is now staying put after signing a new deal and all appears to be well at Anfield.
It’s unlikely that we will see Liverpool make any more big moves this summer and the focus could soon turn to the 2023 window.
Liverpool fancy Jude Bellingham
A midfielder is bound to be Liverpool’s next big expenditure; the Reds did go for new Real Madrid signing Aurelien Tchouameni after all.
Next summer seems like the right time for Liverpool to go big on a new recruit in their engine room and the natural link will be to Jude Bellingham.
The Borussia Dortmund ace is regularly tipped for a move to Anfield but the Bundesliga giants aren’t keen on selling this summer having already lost Erling Haaland.
The timeline may be ideal for Bellingham to join Liverpool next summer and there are mixed noises emerging.
The Athletic report that Bellingham has a really strong relationship with Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson.

Bellingham and Henderson know each other from England international duty and have built up a great friendship.
There may be 13 years between the pair but it seems they have hit it off with England.
Liverpool aren’t put off paying a huge £103million for Bellingham but it’s stated that the 19-year-old’s wage demands may be a problem.
Liverpool have just agreed to pay Mohamed Salah around £350,000-a-week but won’t want that to become a habit.
Bellingham will be in a position to command huge wages whenever he leaves Dortmund and that may just give Liverpool cause for concern.
Yet if you’re paying over £100million for a player, surely big wages comes with the territory? Liverpool know what they’re getting into by targeting Bellingham and if a deal is there to be done, the Reds would be foolish to back away.
