Liverpool may have had high hopes for teenager Ethan Ennis, but he has already decided to leave Anfield for Manchester United.
The Reds have seen homegrown talents like Trent Alexander-Arnold and Curtis Jones become first-team players, and a similar fate surely awaits some other Liverpool youngsters.
Ennis could have been one of them; he scored a stunning hat-trick against Sutton United in an Under-18 game back in March, earning huge praise from Liverpool supporters.
Fans may have wanted to see Ennis take another step forward this coming season, but he will doing it away from Anfield.
An update emerged from Anfield on Sunday, with the Liverpool Echo stating that Liverpool have resigned themselves to Ennis moving on this summer.
The 16-year-old has rejected a scholarship offer to stay at Anfield, and it’s suggested that he will now be heading to Liverpool’s bitter rivals Manchester United.

Liverpool fans are now taking to Twitter to react to the news, admitting that Ennis heading to United is a ‘sickener’.
Some added that they are bitterly disappointed to be losing Ennis to a rival, feeling that his departure is a ‘big loss’.
