Liverpool are now resigned to losing youngster Ethan Ennis – but he will be joining Manchester United rather than Chelsea.

That’s according to the Liverpool Echo, who claim that Ennis has rejected the offer of a scholarship at Anfield.

Ennis, 16, made seven appearances in the Under-18 Premier League last season, recording two goals and one assist.

Primarily an attack-minded player, Ennis doesn’t turn 17 until December but has already decided that his future lies away from Liverpool.

So where is Ennis going?

The report notes that Manchester United and Chelsea are both keen on Ennis, and the teenager posted an Instagram photo from Chelsea’s Cobham training ground last month.

That pointed towards a move to West London, but Stretty News claim that United have nipped in and won the race.

The Red Devils will absolutely love that if true, as raiding their bitter rivals for one of their top young teenagers is quite the move.

It doesn’t look like there is time for Liverpool to get back in with a new move for Ennis, and whilst Chelsea may still have hope, United seem to be the favourites now.
