Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool are leading the race to sign Jude Bellingham in the summer of 2022, according to The Daily Star.

What’s the story?

The Daily Star have reported that Manchester United are interested in Bellingham, but it is their Premier League rivals Liverpool who are the frontrunners for the England international midfielder.

United are also interested in West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice, but the Red Devils are not willing to pay the £90 million transfer fee that the Hammers want for the England international.

So, United are looking into the possibility of signing Phillips from Leeds next summer.

Jude Bellingham would be brilliant for Liverpool

Given that that we are now at the end of September 2021, it is too early to say that Liverpool will definitely get Bellingham next summer.

After all, a lot of things could happen between now and when the 2022 summer transfer window opens.

However, given what we know about Bellingham, we can safely say that he would make Liverpool better.

The 18-year-old is a box-to-box midfielder who has impressed Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola among others.

Dortmund striker Erling Hallend described his Dortmund teammate as “amazing” and “fantastic” this month, as quoted in The Mirror.

The former Birmingham City youngster has scored one goal and given one assist in six Bundesliga matches, and has scored one goal and provided one assist in one Champions League game for Dortmund so far this season.
