Brendan Rodgers breaks down what makes ‘tough’ Harry Kane special

Leicester City boss, Brendan Rodgers has waxed lyrical about Tottenham Hotspur striker, Harry Kane, ahead of the meeting between both sides on Saturday.

The 29-year-old has been on the receiving end of a number of compliments recently, especially after breaking Jimmy Greaves’ all-time goalscoring record for the club by the likes of Cristian Stellini, Ian Wright and Jermain Defoe to name a few.

Now, Leicester manager, Brendan Rodgers has been full of praise for Tottenham vice-captain, Harry Kane.

The England captain has an impressive 17 Premier League goals in 22 matches this season. But perhaps what is even more striking is how the legendary goalscorer has managed to produce such incredible output in a side that is begging for creativity.

Leicester tactician, Brendan Rodgers is clearly cognizant of this fact, as he lavished praise on to Harry Kane, who is having yet another stupendous campaign with Tottenham.

“He [Harry Kane] has absolutely everything. He’s a world-class player. It’s not just the consistency. He’s been relentless. It’s not by accident”, Brendan Rodgers told Leicester Mercury, ahead of his side’s contest against Tottenham.

“It’s hard work on the training field. He’s got every tool that you would want as a top striker. He scores goals, he links the game, he’s tough, he’s mentally strong. He’s a brilliant player, a great leader.”

Those that play with or against Harry Kane realise how special he is

Often, the discourse around the Spurs legend is completely centred around how he must leave the club in search for silverware.

While that remains a valid point, it is worth saying that every time a teammate, opposition player or manager, such as Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers discuss Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane, all they can be is awestruck of his magnificence.

Another Foxes representative in James Maddison reacted to him breaking the Lilywhites’ goalscoring record by describing it as ‘brilliant’, which says it all really.
