Tottenham Hotspur have had a healthy success rate in the transfer market under Ange Postecoglou so far.
From Micky van de Ven to James Maddison, many of the signings last summer delivered and now they are looking to kick on with Tottenham in the Europa League.
Spurs didn’t have those European matches pinned to their midweek schedule during the recently concluded campaign.
But every bit of their squad is now going to be needed because they proved last season that, a few injuries here and there, and they don’t tend to cope.
A prime example of that was Maddison getting injured after the first ten games of the season – when Spurs were top – missing several months of the campaign, along with van de Ven.
Maddison was told about that derailing Tottenham’s season and now the London club have to fix that issue via the summer transfer market.
Tottenham have secured the transfer of Archie Gray from Leeds United, he will certainly bulk up the midfield and also provide extra cover at right-back.
But you feel if Maddison has his issues again – and it has become a common theme since his Leicester City days – then Postecoglou is going to need someone who can easily fit it.
During periods of the last campaign, Dejan Kulusevski did play as a number ten, and whilst he did well at times, he isn’t of the standard of Maddison.
That’s why Kevin Nolan is backing Tottenham to secure the transfer of Crystal Palace’s sought-after star, Eberechi Eze.
The recently departed West Ham coach explained that Eze is an ‘unbelievable player’ and someone who would be a ‘fantastic fit’ for Spurs, as he told talkSPORT (24/07/24 at 8:25 am).
Eberechi Eze to secure Tottenham Hotspur transfer
“I think he would be a fantastic fit,” said Nolan about Eze moving to Spurs. “He’s an unbelievable player. I really like him. We played him in COVID, in a friendly, when he was at QPR.
“After all the lads, you know when lads come in and they have played against him, and it was like ‘what a player’, then he ended up going to Palace. What a signing he has been for them.”

Will Eberechi Eze leave Crystal Palace?
The 26-year-old is at the stage of his career where he is ready to step up and compete for a team in Europe – Tottenham would certainly provide that.
Palace recently sold Michael Olise to Bayern Munich and you wonder, if the offer is right, whether or not they would be open to selling Eze also.

What doesn’t help those at Selhurst Park is that sources have told HITC that Eze has been left unsettled by the transfer call to let Olise go.
This could be his cue to also leave and Tottenham’s chance to bring in a player who would elevate their XI and work very well with their all-action, dynamic and fearless forward line.
