Villarreal winger Arnaut Danjuma left Clinton Morrison in awe on BBC Radio 5 Live (29/9, 21:14) of his passing range, as the reported Liverpool target thrilled at Manchester United.
Danjuma produced a mesmerising display at Old Trafford on Wednesday night as he helped Villarreal to take control of proceedings. But Unai Emery’s El Submarino Amarillo ultimately ended the night without a point, after Cristiano Ronaldo’s stoppage-time winner.
Liverpool had scouts in attendance at the Champions League group stage affair to run the rule over Villarreal star Danjuma. That’s according to Voetbal International, who reported ahead of the tie that the Reds are closely monitoring the Dutchman’s form.

Liverpool long-term admirers of Villarreal star Danjuma
The Anfield hierarchy view the 24-year-old as a potential successor for Sadio Mane, while Jurgen Klopp has also been a long-term admirer. Marca, too, reported in August Liverpool explored signing Danjuma from Bournemouth before he sealed a £21m move to Villarreal.
Danjuma has enjoyed a fine start at the Estadio de la Ceramica with three goals and one assist in seven appearances. The two-time Netherlands international registered his first assist on Wednesday night, after finding Paco Alcacer to score against Manchester United.
Alcacer put Villarreal ahead eight-minutes into the second-half after Danjuma glid down the right-wing. Easily beating Diogo Dalot and laying the ball on a plate for the striker to net under David de Gea. With Liverpool target Danjuma also thrilling Morrison in the process.
“It was all down to Danjuma,” Morrison said. “The timing of the pass was just brilliant. It was only a matter of time [before Villarreal scored]. Alcacer, that’s what you want from your centre-forward. It’s a simple tap-in past David de Gea.”

Man of the Match performance at Old Trafford
Danjuma proved a constant threat to the Manchester United defenders, as they hosted the Liverpool target’s Villarreal side on Wednesday. Dalot also had no answer for the Lagos, Nigeria-born forward’s efforts, with the winger easily able to beat the Portuguese.
De Gea also had to get a strong hand on the ball twice to deny Danjuma before Alcacer scored. While also reacting well to flick the danger away when Danjuma delivered a threatening cross into the Spain striker.
Danjuma’s spellbinding efforts returned the Man of the Match award at full-time, but not the three-points Villarreal needed. They also now sit bottom of Group F after two games having drawn with Atalanta, who beat Young Boys on Wednesday.
