Villarreal winger Arnaut Danjuma is the subject of Liverpool transfer rumours again – and he tormented Manchester United on Wednesday night.

United hosted Villarreal at Old Trafford and fell behind as Paco Alcacer converted from a Danjuma cross.

Alex Telles smashed in a volley to level the game, before Cristiano Ronaldo snatched a last-gasp winner for the Red Devils.

Liverpool’s interest in Danjuma

According to Voetbal International, Liverpool scouted Danjuma at Old Trafford last night.

The Reds were interested in signing the Dutchman from Bournemouth this summer, but he joined Villarreal instead.

Liverpool are still looking for other wingers though, and Danjuma has remained on their radar.

If they did watch Danjuma in action, they saw him run riot against Diogo Dalot down the Villarreal left.

Danjuma wins Man of the Match award

United may have won and Ronaldo may have stolen the headlines, but Danjuma was given the Man of the Match award.

The Dutch wide man recorded two shots on target, two key passes, an assist and three successful dribbles as he terrorised Dalot.

Liverpool scouts were surely impressed, and he took to Twitter to react after winning that award.

Danjuma admitted he was ‘proud’ to win the award and vowed to come back stronger after falling to defeat.

Maybe Danjuma will have more Old Trafford trips in the future – but as a Liverpool player.
