England’s Jude Bellingham was visibly distraught after their semi-final loss to Argentina in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Lautaro Martinez broke English hearts with a sensational stoppage-time stunner to push Argentina to the Final at the expense of the Three Lions, who failed to convert a 1-0 lead into a win.

Jude Bellingham has gone from a potential England hero to another one of the national team’s stars since 1966, trying to reason with the fans of a football-crazy nation.

In his post-match interview, midfielder Jude Bellingham was visibly reeling from the impact of the loss and gave a very candid take on how he feels after failing to lead England to the Final.

“I think we can take a lot of experience from this, but it is so gutting. I wanted to be a part of an England squad that finally done it and got it over the line. To be here, telling the fans the same things they’ve heard for years, it’s really gutting.”

“I wish I could give one more win or two more wins, but at the moment, my head is a bit fuzzy with disappointment, so I’m sorry.”

Bellingham had a sensational tournament, ending it with seven goal contributions (six goals and one assist). His brace against Norway in the quarter finals kept their World Cup dream alive.

Unfortunately, no such magic could be created against Argentina, who relentlessly pursued England with tactical solidity the entire game and secured a 2-1 win.

The 23-year-old Bellingham will surely get another chance at representing his nation at the World Cup.

Still, after a dismal trophyless season at Real Madrid, this is another devastating development for him since the Euro 2024 Final loss to Spain.
