Steve Kerr has given Golden State Warriors fans around the world hope after his comments on LeBron James’ ongoing free agency.
The Warriors are among the finalists that James is said to be considering for his next stop in the NBA for a historic 24th season in the league.
Out of all interested parties, the Warriors actually need LeBron the most, and head coach Steve Kerr’s thoughts on LeBron’s decision have their fans excited.
Steve Kerr says LeBron James will join the Warriors
Kerr spoke to some fans from his car who told him they wanted LeBron to join the franchise, with Kerr responding by telling them that they’ve got him.
“Oh, we got him. Don’t put that on Twitter,”
Kerr seemed to be joking, but his flat delivery has some Warriors fans excited and many other fans outraged.
The reality of LeBron joining his biggest rivals over his career is pretty jarring, but if James values playing for a veteran organization with championship DNA seeping out of them, Golden State is the best choice.
However, every other team might be a better choice because a title with them boosts LeBron to five rings while Curry remains at four.
The Warriors might be the worst choice for LeBron James
Joining Golden State anyway doesn’t seem to be a winning move, given how far off their roster is from being competitive in the West.

The Warriors missed the Playoffs last season and haven’t made any impactful changes to their roster despite being without Jimmy Butler and Moses Moody for a majority of next season.
If James joins Golden State, it’s for a last hurrah surrounded by close personal friends while staying near his family in Los Angeles. It’s simply not a competitive move given what the others can offer.
The Cavaliers, Timberwolves, and 76ers present a clear plug-and-play opportunity for James in their starting five while already being much better than the Warriors roster without James even joining.
But if happiness is the goal, joining Golden State is a real possibility. Hopefully, Kerr was just joking around, or we might actually see the LeBron-Steph Curry duo over an NBA season.
