Leeds United have started to reinvest the Archie Gray funds after raiding Yorkshire rivals Sheffield United for the signing of Jayden Bogle.

Daniel Farke narrowly missed out on guiding Leeds United back to the Premier League at the first time of asking.

A Championship playoff final defeat to Southampton was a major blow but fans were hopeful of another promotion push.

Those dreams took something of a dent earlier in July though as Leeds announced the sale of wonderkid Archie Gray to Tottenham Hotspur.

Leeds raked in huge money for Gray but that didn’t mean too much to fans in the moment as one of the club’s top talents departed.

Joe Rodon at least came in the opposite direction but with Glen Kamara sold to Rennes last week, Leeds simply had to reinvest in new signings.

Jayden Bogle on Leeds United fans

Gray may be a midfielder by trade but he actually spent most of last season playing as a right back.

The teenager showed his versatility brilliantly as loan signings Djed Spence and Connor Roberts had to make do with bit-part roles.

Leeds have though decided to invest in the right back position, landing Jayden Bogle from Sheffield United.

Raiding your local rivals is always enjoyable, but to land a proven Championship right back in Bogle – who still has room to develop at 23 – is pretty much ideal for Leeds.

Bogle has racked up nearly 200 career games with more than 150 coming at either Championship or Premier League level.

Now trading Bramall Lane for Elland Road, Bogle is looking to prove that he is worth the £7million outlay.

Bogle has now spoken to the Leeds official website and described the atmosphere at Elland Road with just one word – ‘crazy’.

Bogle admitted being awestruck by how ‘amazing’ Elland Road looks even when empty and simply can’t wait to play there next season.

“I’ve played here before and the atmosphere before a game is crazy,” said Bogle. “I can’t wait for that to be on my side now and fuel me going into games, I am really excited about it. Even looking at it now when it’s empty, it looks amazing, so I can’t imagine what it’s like when it is full,” he added.

Who is next for Leeds United?

Bogle joins Rodon, Joe Rothwell and Alex Cairns as the signings for Leeds this summer, which is a decent start to the window – even with Gray going.

Leeds do still need more quality though as Illan Meslier and Crysencio Summerville continue to attract major interest.

One player Leeds are interested in signing in Bournemouth striker Daniel Jebbison.

HITC understands that Leeds wanted to land Jebbison from Sheffield United this summer but lost out to Bournemouth.

Leeds still fancy taking Jebbison on loan though and still have hope of reuniting him with Bogle at Elland Road.

Bournemouth are open to a loan in order to accelerate Jebbison’s development but Sundelrand are interested too, presenting Leeds with a real battle.
