Jason Cundy thinks Liverpool could sign England star for ‘£60m’ after ‘surprise’ transfer talks

Liverpool fans are eagerly waiting for their club to make their transfer mark under their new manager, Arne Slot.

It’s difficult as it is for the Dutchman to takeover the Anfield hotseat because he is replacing Jurgen Klopp.

So, the powers that be at Liverpool have to make sure they ambitiously back their manager, or else, they will feel the wrath of their supporters.

One man who won’t be joining Liverpool is highly-rated centre-back Leny Yoro. A player who was linked with the club.

But sources have now told HITC that Yoro has jetted for his Manchester United medical ahead of a move to the Premier League.

The Reds need centre-backs ahead of the new Premier League season. Joel Matip has left. Ibrahima Konaté is injury-prone. You can’t put too much pressure on Jarell Quansah. And Joe Gomez has found his form again, but at left-back.

Then there is Virgil van Dijk and many are hoping he stays on board as Liverpool enter a new era.

Either way, the club needs to invest in the summer transfer in a new centre-back, or else, it could cost them.

Andy Goldstein put it forward to Jason Cundy that one man who is being discussed by Liverpool is Crystal Palace star, Marc Guehi, as he told talkSPORT. 

The talkSPORT presenter added that it is ‘surprising’ but asked Jason Cundy what transfer fee Liverpool would need to get him out of Selhurst Park.

Andy Goldstein: “Marc Guehi is wanted, this is a surprise, by Liverpool, who have begun negations to sign the Palace and England defender. How much? Just give me a price.”

Cundy responded: “You could probably get him out of there for £60 million.”

It would be a brilliant partnership and one Liverpool should push to bring together.

Everyone saw what the Palace star did this summer because Guehi was outstanding for England at Euro 2024, even if the attacking performances were rotten.
