Liverpool got off to a slow start this summer but they have burst to life in the final few days of the window.
The Reds adopted a patient approach to this summer’s window, with the chiefs at Anfield biding their time to find the right reinforcements for manager Arne Slot.
Their first signing came in the shape of a £29.5million deal for Giorgi Mamardashvili, but the Georgian goalkeeper is not set to join up with the squad until next season.
Liverpool then turned their attention to outgoings with Fabio Carvalho leaving in a £27m deal to Brentford alongside Sepp van den Berg.
After Liverpool’s deal collapsed for Martin Zubimendi, it looked as though the Merseyside club could end the window without any outfield signings, but they pounced to beat several clubs to Federico Chiesa‘s signature.

Liverpool struck a £12million deal to sign Chiesa from Juventus, despite the Serie A giants spending £42million to sign him in 2022.
Liverpool’s patient approach has seemed to pay off with the Chiesa deal looking like a bargain late in the window.
Jamie Carragher has now given his verdict on the move, and the Liverpool legend believes the Italy international used to be worth £70million.
“I think the Chiesa deal is fantastic,” Carragher said on Sky Sports.
“I think in all the time that Mo Salah has been at the club, he stands out that much, he’s so durable and never misses any games that Liverpool have never quite had anybody to fill in that role when he’s not been there.
“Even last season, Jota and Diaz played there at times. All of Liverpool’s forwards seem more comfortable on the left.
“So I think Chiesa coming in initially will be back up for Mo Salah, we know he has the situation with his contract.
“But in Chiesa, when you go back to the Euros when Italy beat England in that final, we were looking at a £60-£70million player at that time.”
Federico Chiesa is a bargain for Liverpool
A new right-winger was not a top priority for Liverpool heading into the summer, but with Salah entering the final year of his contract it was certainly a position that needed addressing sooner rather than later.

In Chiesa, Liverpool have bagged themselves a hard-working, top-quality winger for a tiny fee. Liverpool’s transfer department has faced their fair share of criticism for their slow start to the window, but the Chiesa deal answers their critics emphatically.
Chiesa now has a year to settle in at Liverpool and adapt to Slot’s style before potentially becoming the replacement for Salah next season.
