Fabio Chiesa has issued a goodbye message to Juventus fans as his move to Liverpool is close to being completed.

HITC had reported that Liverpool were progressing in talks with Juventus to sign Federico Chiesa, with the Italian set to move to Arne Slot’s side.

The six-time European champions have waited all summer for a major signing. Now, two could arrive within only a few days of each other with Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili also completing his move to Anfield.

As for Chiesa, Liverpool are ‘cautiously optimisitc’ that a deal for the Italian winger will be complete before Friday’s transfer deadline and Chiesa has said his goodbyes to Juve fans.

Federico Chiesa’s goodbye message to Juventus fans

Gianluca di Marzio covered comments from the forward as he caught his flight to Liverpool from Caselle Airport in Torino.

“Ready to begin this new adventure, I wanted to say goodbye to the Bianconeri fans,” he is quoted by the Italian journalist as saying.

“Thank you for your affection and for these years, I will carry you in my heart and thank Juventus. Is it sad to leave Juve like this? I’m sorry but I’m really happy about this new adventure. I’m really happy and my family and I can’t wait.”

With the winger already travelling to Anfield, it appears that a deal could be on the cards for Liverpool in what would be their first outfield signing of the summer.

Liverpool failed in an attempt to sign Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad with the Spanish midfielder deciding to remain at the La Liga side.

Juventus could now move for Jadon Sancho

With Chiesa seemingly closing in on a move to Liverpool, this could well suggest that Jadon Sancho could be on his way to the Italian giants.

HITC reported that Juventus were in talks with Manchester United over a deal for Jadon Sancho and with the imminent sale of Chiesa, the Italian side could step up their pursuit of the Englishman.

Bayern Munich have also shown an interest in Sancho whilst the Red Devils have also held exploratory discussions with Chelsea over a deal for Raheem Sterling.

With just days remaining before the window slams shut, Juventus will have to get a move on to sign Sancho, the English winger.
