Erik ten Hag will target more silverware with Manchester United next season after winning two trophies in his first two years.
The Dutchman’s future at Old Trafford was cast into doubt last season after Manchester United finished eighth in the Premier League – their worst-ever league finish.
But a remarkable FA Cup win over rivals Manchester City forced the club’s hierarchy to reconsider and Erik Ten Hag has since signed a new deal to stay in Manchester.
He is now preparing for his third season in charge and United have already strengthened their squad with the signings of Joshua Zirkzee and Leny Yoro.
With a League Cup and FA Cup already added to the trophy cabinet, Ten Hag insisted in an interview with The Times that only Pep Guardiola has made a bigger impact on English football since he arrived in the Premier League.

Jamie O’Hara mocks Erik ten Hag comments
Ten Hag’s claim is certainly strong, and after having his job put under pressure last season he appears to have come out fighting this summer.
But his comments didn’t go down well with former Tottenham player and pundit Jamie O’Hara.
After hearing Ten Hag’s quote, O’Hara told talkSPORT “He’s done alright. He’s won some trophies – but they’re Man United and have spent about £800million.
“Is he having a laugh? They finished eighth last season – the worst season they’ve ever had.
“I still think he’s got loads of problems there next season. Marcus Rashford, that’s a massive problem. Jadon Sancho is an issue.”
Erik ten Hag must back up his words
Ten Hag has talked the talk and now it is time for him to walk the walk. As much as Ineos have shown faith in him this summer, his job is still under scrutiny.

There will be little hesitation in sacking him if United suffer another poor Premier League season. His track record in the cup competitions has been impressive but Champions League qualification is a must this season.
With big transfer investment again this summer there is more pressure than ever for United to not only win, but to put in convincing performances.
