Furthermore, Walcott scored the second strike in his side’s comeback from two goals down as well.

While the Saints are still languishing in 20th place in the Premier League table, that was a rare positive for them in what has been a nightmarish season to say the least.
As Southampton did the unthinkable by coming from two goals down against Tottenham, Alan Shearer reserved special praise for Theo Walcott, who registered a goal and an assist on the day.
“He may not have the pace he once had, but [Theo] Walcott still showed how much quality he possesses, scoring once and making another”, Shearer said after putting him in his Premier League Team of the Week.

While Ruben Selles has a lot of interesting tools at his disposal, especially in young talents such as Romeo Lavia and Armel Bella-Kotchap, the same cannot be said about the dearth of frightening forwards in his ranks.
As Alan Shearer pointed out, Theo Walcott still has a lot to offer in a Southampton shirt, as was on display against Tottenham.
And one gets the sense that if the ex-England international does not step up in terms of goals and assists, it is looking very likely that the side’s toothless attack will render them relegated at the end of the season.
