Trent Alexander-Arnold isn’t even at the peak of his career, yet he will already go down as one of Liverpool’s greatest-ever players.

That fresh-faced teenager who came through the ranks under Jurgen Klopp blossomed into one of the best right-backs of the Premier League era.

Alexander-Arnold ended up winning it all in the colours of Liverpool, including helping his boyhood club end their three-decade wait to become champions of England.

But there is now a new dawn in the Liverpool dugout, with Klopp leaving in May and Arne Slot now taking over and hoping to continue the German’s success.

Alexander-Arnold has previously opened up on his first conversation with Slot, with the 25-year-old currently on his holidays after reaching the final of Euro 2024 with England.

There is one dark cloud above the player’s head that needs to be addressed and that’s his future – the England star has 12 months left to run on his Anfield contract.

Alexander-Arnold has been spotted with Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham on his holidays and the Spanish giants just so happen to be the club he is linked with.

Amid these rumours, the Anfield product decided to sign a Real Madrid shirt for a fan, but those actions haven’t sat well with Jamie O’Hara.

The former Premier League midfielder thinks it was ‘poor’ on the player’s part and ‘I am not having that’, as he told talkSPORT (30/07/24 at 6:30 am).

He added by claiming that the Merseyside giants will soon lose their star man because ‘he will be out of Liverpool’ and donning Real Madrid colours.

“Bellingham and Trent out in Miami, living their best life,” said O’Hara. “I saw him sign a Real Madrid shirt the other day.

“That’s poor, that. I am not having that. You can’t be having that. You can’t be signing Real Madrid shirts as a Liverpool player. Nah. I am not having that.

“I think he will be out of Liverpool. I think he will go to Real Madrid.”

Overreaction to Trent Alexander-Arnold

Trent would be the last person to diss Liverpool, so too much has been made of the signing of the Madrid shirt.

Should fans be worried about losing the all-action right-back? Very much so. But it’s the fault of the powers that be.

Why they have allowed Alexander-Arnold to be in a situation where he has 12 months left to run is baffling, but he isn’t the only one because Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah are in the same boat.

Although, sources have told HITC that van Dijk has made a decision on his Liverpool future, with the new Premier League season to kick off next month.
