Tottenham Hotspur fans were delighted to see Maksim Paskotsi in senior training yesterday.
Star of the future?
Paskotsi made his senior Tottenham debut in their very first game this season, against Pacos de Ferreira in the Conference League.
He hasn’t actually been seen since, but there are still very high hopes for the 18-year-old at Spurs.
Indeed, with Antonio Conte playing a system which incorporates three central defenders, Paskotsi chances of playing may actually have improved.
And Tottenham fans were pleased to see the youngster having the chance to impress first-team training yesterday.
International star
Paskotsi is actually in an interesting situation where he has far more international caps than appearances in club football.
The teenager is becoming a regular for Estonia, but he is yet to make the breakthrough at Tottenham level.
His performances on the international stage have helped highlight his quality, though.
Paskotsi already looks ready to play senior football – although Spurs may be reluctant to throw him in right now.
There have also been claims that Conte could look to sign two central defenders in January on the Transfer Window Podcast.
If Spurs are successful with that transfer plan, Paskotsi’s chances of playing first-team football will obviously decrease.
And it may be that Spurs consider loaning him out in the January transfer window.
