IShowSpeed has sent a motivational message to his followers after performing at the FIFA 2026 World Cup closing ceremony.
Soccer and sporting purists in general won’t like it of course, but the 2026 World Cup final in New Jersey was almost as much about celebrity influence as it was the match itself.
Indeed, Speed was part of an A-list team who performed before and during the game.

Though the closing ceremony and half-time shows have been criticised by those who simply wanted to watch the biggest match in soccer, there’s little doubt the performances themselves attracted a lot of eyeballs.
Speed reflected on his journey after the event.
Speed tells his followers to believe in their dreams
Standing outside the New York New Jersey Stadium (MetLife Stadium) in East Rutherford, Speed urged his followers to believe in their dreams.
“Four years ago, I was in my mom’s house streaming, barking and lighting my house on fire. I came from Ohio Portugal and I was doing anything, now I just performed at the World Cup final,” he said.
“You know what that means, bro? You can do whatever you want. Just believe.”
He notes that only four years ago he was streaming inside his mother’s house, starting a journey that would lead him to perform at the biggest event in soccer.
The closing ceremony did not invoke quite as much ire as the half-time show.
Though fans might see closing ceremonies as an unwelcome distraction, they at least do not impact the actual sporting event.
FIFA’s half time show at the World Cup final between Spain and Argentina lasted longer than the rules state the break can last.
Half time in soccer is 15 minutes long. That has been a long-standing rule woven into the very fabric of the sport.
From the last whistle in the first half to the whistle officially starting the second half, more than 27 minutes passed.
Speed is a huge soccer fan and has even offered to (somehow) play for India ahead of the 2030 World Cup qualification cycle.
The 21-year-old is no doubt delighted that Spain denied Lionel Messi and Argentina a second World Cup, given his adoration for one Cristiano Ronaldo…
