Internet celebrity IShowSpeed could not help but hide his surprise when Noah Lyles made an appearance on his live stream to offer a rematch.
The Olympic gold medalist ran against the YouTube star back in 2024 in a 50 metre exhibition race, with Lyles winning $100,000. Lyles later donated that money to his foundation.
How do you feel about the idea of expanding the World Cup to 64 teams? 🏆
It is on the cards for 2030, but is it simply too much football?
Speed, however, did perform fairly well given the difference in their athletic pedigree. Lyles was keen to point out in a later interview that he was only giving it 20% of his efforts, of course.
Now, the two could be prepared to run it back.
Speed and Lyles could be set for a rematch
Speed, whose real name is Darren Jason Watkins Jr, was streaming from the Dallas Stadium (AT&T Stadium) in Arlington, Texas during France’s World Cup semi-final against Spain.
Spain booked their spot in only a second ever World Cup final by beating tournament favourites France in relatively routine fashion on Tuesday.
Goals from striker Mikel Oyarzabal and defender Pedro Porro sealed a 2-0 win for La Roja, who now look like favourites to win the competition as a whole. England and Argentina meet in Atlanta on Wednesday to determine who has the right to face the European champions in Sunday’s final.
Speed, a huge soccer fan, expressed his surprise at watching Spain dismantle a French team who had looked imperious before their semi-final showdown.

The 21-year-old was equally as shocked when Lyles appeared behind him to say he was interested in watching a sport Speed loves so much.
Lyles did also joke that some of the soccer players were slow compared to him. Frankly, most of the world’s population are, but the likes of Kylian Mbappe might have something to say about that!
When Speed asked the Olympian where he’d come from, Lyles joked that he was merely 50 metres away.
The two also hinted at a rematch.
Speed has previously asked for a chance to run it back and it seems like his wish may be granted at some point in the future…
