According to Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid are now interested in signing Arsenal and Newcastle target Fabian Ruiz.
What’s the story?
Well, it was said that Newcastle made a £42m bid for the Spain international, and they also offered to treble his wages.
Elsewhere, other sources claimed that Arsenal led the race to sign Ruiz.
Now, however, there is a good chance he joins Real Madrid – in our view, at least.
Romano states that Carlo Ancelotti is a “big fan” of the 26-year-old, who he signed from Real Betis during his days in charge of Napoli.
Ruiz has entered the final 12 months of his contract in Naples, and Romano adds that any deal is dependant on whether the Spaniard agrees fresh terms with the Italian side when they hold talks in August.

Interest in the Napoli No.8 comes after he scored seven goals in 38 appearances last season, while also providing five assists.
Ruiz has already rejected one contract offer from Napoli, and with the likes of Real Madrid, Arsenal and Newcastle sniffing around, we doubt he will pen a new deal with the Serie A side.
Arsenal & Newcastle may now lose out to Real Madrid
It goes without saying that Real Madrid is the pinnacle of world football.
The 14-time European champions are rarely rejected by their targets, so if Ancelotti is genuinely interested in a reunion with Ruiz, that is bad news for Mikel Arteta and Eddie Howe.

As aforesaid, Ruiz is also Spanish, so he may prefer a move back home than a switch to the Premier League.
With all things considered, Arsenal and Newcastle are facing an uphill battle to get this deal done after Real Madrid decided to gatecrash the party – however, anything is possible this summer, so keep an eye on the situation.
