- EXCLUSIVE from Graeme Bailey
Chelsea and Liverpool were both in attendance at the Coppa Italia final on Wednesday evening as Juventus beat Atalanta, HITC understands.
Sources believe that Teun Koopmeiners was the main reason for both sides being present.
Coincidentally, Juventus are leading the chase for the Atalanta man – but there is plenty of English interest too. Chelsea – who look set to part company with Conor Gallagher this summer – have been doing their work on Teun Koopmeiners, who they admire.
Even though Gallagher has been a regular for Mauricio Pochettino this season, he will likely depart if he isn’t offered a new contract.
HITC already revealed in April that Gallagher wants to stay, but the Chelsea hierarchy is yet to be convinced in offering him a new deal.
Teun Koopmeiners & Federico Chiesa transfer interest
Liverpool are looking at potential midfield reinforcements and Koopmeiners is a name they were aware of before they made their decision to go with Arne Slot as their new head coach – who knows the player from their time together at AZ Alkmaar.
The Reds also took the chance to check on Federico Chiesa – a player they have been watching for a couple of years, and whose contract talks are yet to result in him committing his future to Juventus, as HITC revealed in February.

At 26, Chiesa is regarded as one of the best players in Serie A and can play several roles across the forward line.
The Italy international, who will be looking to defend his nation’s European Championship crown this summer, has seven goals and three assists in Serie A this term.

Dusan Vlahovic scores for Juventus in Coppa Italia final
Another player on show in the Coppa Italia final was long-term Chelsea target Dusan Vlahovic. Like Chiesa, Juventus are looking to hammer out a new deal with him but talks – that began last summer – are yet to materialise.
Vlahovic, who is an option for Chelsea should they fail to land their top target Victor Osimhen, scored the winner for Juve.

The 24-year-old has scored 16 goals in 31 Serie A matches this season and also has an impressive record of 13 goals in 26 international matches for Serbia.
The Serbs are in the same group as England for Euro 2024 and they will both face each other for their opening match on June 14.
