Liverpool are understood to be paying close attention to the future of Juventus forward Federico Chiesa, HITC understands.
Federico Chiesa has been in talks with Juventus over a new deal since last summer, with his current contract set to expire in 2025. However, negotiations have stalled with sources confirming they have yet to agree on the salary.
A new winger may well be high on Liverpool’s shopping list in the summer as it is unclear what the future holds for Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah as he has consistently been linked with a move to Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad.
Juve sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli is working hard on a number of issues with new deals in the works for Adrien Rabiot and Dusan Vlahoic, as well as Chiesa.
Liverpool keeping an eye on the situation
Jurgen Klopp will be leaving Liverpool at the end of the season but such is the structure at the Anfield club that they will more than likely have a list of transfer targets, despite the German’s exit in the summer.
Juventus are understood to be working hard to tie Chiesa down to a new contract as they do not want to risk the Italian entering the final year of his deal with the Italian giants.
Well, this has led to a number of sides being alerted by the availability of the Italian winger, HITC sources understand.
Many of the clubs who had previously been interested assumed that the Italian side would tie Chiesa down to a new deal but the lack of progress has led to Liverpool, among others, keeping a watching brief.
Top clubs keen
As well as Liverpool, who could be looking for a replacement for Salah, HITC understands that Luis Enrique’s Paris Saint-Germain and Thomas Tuchel’s Bayern Munich are keen.
Chelsea and Newcastle United have also previously been linked with Chiesa, who had a superb European Championship campaign with Italy back in the summer of 2021.
It seems, however, that Liverpool are the team who are keeping a close eye on the situation and could make a move in the summer.
