Manchester United could be about to sign that much-needed centre-back, but it won’t be Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite.
Highly-rated teenager Leny Yoro has impressed many with his performances for Lille, but now he is set to make a major move.
Sources have told HITC that Yoro has jetted in to complete a deal at Manchester United, despite strong suggestions that Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite was the man they wanted.
Over a week ago, Manchester United launched a second offer worth over £50 million for Branthwaite, but Everton held firm and rejected two offers.
As you can imagine, this Yoro news has excited Manchester United supporters because they are signing one of the top talents from France.
It probably also allows the Everton fanbase to rest a little easy because it’s less likely that they will lose Branthwaite this summer.
Amadou Onana is expected to secure a transfer from Goodison Park to Aston Villa in a £50 million deal, but the Toffees are still not accepting less than £75/80m for their star defender.
Either way, on Wednesday, as the Yoro news spread like wildfire, Everton were pretty subtle in dropping a Twitter message about ‘JB’.
As you can imagine, it drew quite a reaction from supporters, with Everton fans loving the content their club is putting out because they know what they are doing.
Whilst Manchester United fans were sure to post messages and images of Yoro, as he arrives at Old Trafford ahead of his big-money move.
Everton’s official Jarrad Branthwaite post
Everton are right to hold firm with Jarrad Branthwaite
It was another problematic season for Everton last time out, with their points deductions not helping matters and pushing them towards another relegation battle.
You feel if they can put those off-field troubles behind them, get new owners through the doors and keep the rest of their squad together, then there is no reason why they can’t progress.

It also needs to be remembered that this is their final season at Goodison Park, so they will want to go out with a bang.
And standing firm on players such as Branthwaite by keeping him on board will send them a long way to push higher up the Premier League table.
