Infamously, Scotland supporters have been known for their desire to see England fail in major competitions.

Some often revert to displaying the flags of the teams coming up against the Three Lions in the World Cup and Euros.

Now, England fans believe their rivals are buying up all of the Argentina shirts ahead of Wednesday, as shops declare they have officially sold out of jerseys.

England fans accuse Scotland supporters of purchasing Argentina jerseys

The German media have admitted they are jealous of England and some of the talent Tuchel has at his disposal, with the likes of Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham.

Some may argue this is similar to what Scotland supporters feel having seen their side crash out of the World Cup at the group stages.

After John Cross shared images of a JD Sports shop showing a sign stating, ‘Out of Argentina jerseys’, England fans have reacted claiming it is as a result of Scotland supporters backing Wednesday’s opponents.

‘I often wonder that if Scotland put as much effort into their own team as they did for performative stuff like that, they might make it into the knockouts,’ said one England fan.

‘All seems a bit performative. Do they put notices on the windows for everything they run out stock of?,” replied another.

Scotland were unable to make it out of their group following defeats against Morocco and Brazil.

Another England fan was not impressed in the slightest: ‘The mentality is just pathetic yet they wonder why they don’t get far in tournaments if this much effort was put into their grass roots maybe just maybe they can get further than the group stages.’

‘This is so embarrassing for the Scots. Do they realise how weak & irrelevant they look by doing this?’ said another England supporter.

Wednesday will be the first time Lionel Messi has faced England in his career, with the Golden Boot still very much within his grasp.

‘Sad really. All that Scottish wasted money since the knockouts started,” said an England fan.

Another supporter kept their response very simple, but it spoke volumes: ‘Utterly tragic’.

Argentina will likely be England’s toughest challenge yet, with national pride as well as a spot in the final at stake for both teams.
