The 2026 World Cup has taken place across the United States of America, Canada and Mexico.

The USA have held the majority of games at the tournament and are set to welcome England, Argentina, France and Belgium for the remaining semi-final and final matches, which take place this week.

However, while America has been the main host country this summer, the Azteca has actually been named the loudest at the tournament by one streamer.

An aerial view shows the new hybrid pitch and newly installed seats at Azteca Stadium, recently renamed Banorte Stadium, during renovation works ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026, in Mexico City, Mexico on February 13, 2026. Renovation works continue inside and around the stadium, which will host the opening match of the tournament, marking the third time the venue will stage a World Cup opener, less than four months before it kicks off with Mexico facing South Africa.

Azteca Stadium in Mexico City named loudest at World Cup

Popular streamer Jason Nguyen, who was born in Dallas, Texas, was among the content creators interviewed recently about the World Cup.

When speaking to FIFA via their official X/Twitter account, Jason praised the ‘incredible’ Mexicans and said the loudest stadium was in Mexico City.

He said: “The Mexicans were incredible. The loudest stadium was the Azteca Stadium in Mexico City.”

Later in the clip, Jason added: “I love the passion all the teams bring, all the fans.”

Like the USMNT, Mexico failed to make it past the Round of 16, losing to semi-finalists England by three goals to two.

However, the relationship with the English supporters appears to have been strengthened following what was a close game.

England fans have praised Mexico, with one supporter even suggesting that the final should have been held at the Azteca, rather than at the New York New Jersey stadium.

Meanwhile, though it’s only speculation at this point, there is talk of the English FA organising a friendly match between the two countries, this time at Wembley Stadium in London.

Mexico have not competed at Wembley since all the way back in 2010, in a friendly game which the Three Lions won 3-1.
