Jamie Carragher has said that there is a media bias against Arsenal, after tweeting that the PFA Player of The Year vote could be decided between either Erling Haaland or Marcus Rashford.

As the Athletic writer Gunnerblog replied to his tweet about Bukayo Saka or Martin Odegaard, who have previously been praised by the Liverpool legend as being worthy candidates to win the award, he replied by pointing out a fact which may make a lot of the Emirates faithful smile.

Whether Jamie Carragher genuinely believes there is a media bias against Arsenal or whether he was simply being sarcastic remains a mystery, however.

What Jamie Carragher said about the Arsenal media bias

Several Gunners supporters tend to agree with the Sky pundit’s sentiment, often going back and forth with Gary Neville about his views on the club, especially as he doubts their chances of winning the Premier League even now.

After it was pointed out to Jamie Carragher that Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard should also be in the conversation to win the PFA Player of the Year award, he replied by saying there is a media bias against Arsenal.

The initial response read, “Hello mate, just wondering if you have heard of these footballers called ‘Bukayo Saka’ or ‘Martin Odegaard’? They are quite good.”

The renowned pundit retorted, “Have I not told you about the media’s bias against Arsenal? I thought you were all well aware of it.”

Is there a media bias against the Gunners?

As mentioned previously, considering Jamie Carragher tends to poke fun at Gary Neville from time to time, it may just be a case of him doing that again rather than truly believing in the notion that there is a media bias against Arsenal.

It must be said that in the case of every club across the world, the unfortunate reality is that several mainstream voices tend not to be well-versed about how things operate both on and off-the-pitch, and instead spew ideas that are wide off the mark.

That tends to happen plenty of times in the case of Arsenal, with Mikel Arteta often slated for his touchline antics and how much of a headline that often becomes but in this instance, it is likely that Jamie Carragher is simply joking about his media bias theory.
