Jamie Carragher has said on Sky Sports Premier League (11:14pm, January 23, 2023) that Arsenal attacking midfielder Martin Odegaard has been “absolutely sensational” so far this season.
The former Liverpool defender has been hugely impressed by Odegaard and his performances for Arsenal so far this campaign.
The Sky Sports pundit has said that if Arsenal win the Premier League title this season, then the role played by the £30 million (Sky Sports) Norway international playmaker will have to be hailed.

Carragher said: “I think Odegaard at Arsenal has been absolutely sensational. If Arsenal won the title, I think Odegaard’s role has been sensational. I think he is the closest thing to Kevin De Bruyne.”
Big player for the Gunners
In our view, Martin Odegaard has been one of the best players for Arsenal so far this season.
The Norway international is one of the best creative players out there, and his importance to the current Gunners’ team cannot be undermined at all.
The 24-year-old has progressed and improved a lot under Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta.
Odegaard has exquisite vision and a broad range of passing.
And he has added goals to his game this season.
The Arsenal no. 8 has scored eight goals and given five assists in 18 Premier League matches so far this season.
Odegaard has also made two starts and four substitute appearances in the UEFA Europa League for the Gunners so far this campaign.
