Jamie O’Hara has slammed Clement Lenglet after Tottenham Hotspur succumbed to a 1-0 defeat against AC Milan in the 1st leg of the Champions League Round of 16.

The ‘world-class’ £97,000-a-week defender has already been reported to be out of Antonio Conte’s plans next season, as the Barcelona loanee could end up signing for Sevilla in the summer. Since the Frenchman’s switch to Spurs, it’s safe to say that he has flattered to deceive.

And now, Jamie O’Hara, who remains a die-hard Tottenham fan even after retiring from the game has deemed Clement Lenglet as not at the level to continue playing for the club, after his side lost to AC Milan.

The controversial pundit is known to never mince his words, as he even said that Pape Matar Sarr and Oliver Skipp’s displays made him want to ‘turn off’ the game, while branding Son Heung-min’s outing as ‘awful.’

Now, Jamie O’Hara, whilst saying his piece on a number of underperformers for Tottenham against AC Milan was especially discontent with Clement Lenglet, as he told talkSPORT, “When you’ve got players like [Ivan] Perisic, Son [Heung-min], [Dejan] Kulusevski, [Cristian] Romero, [Harry] Kane; [Clement] Lenglet, who we got from Barcelona, he is like an imposter.”

Unsurprising

When the French defender put pen to paper on a temporary basis for the club, many felt that his flaws would be protected in Antonio Conte’s back 3, and he would thrive, considering how comfortable he is on the ball.

But that has not been the case with Clement Lenglet, as Jamie O’Hara has seen at Tottenham against AC Milan as well.

But in all honesty, the 27-year-old was perhaps the most vulnerable centre-half at Barcelona and has been extremely error-prone for years on end, which makes his deficiencies very unsurprising, from the outside looking in.
