Jamie O’Hara has criticised Tottenham Hotspur’s midfield duo of Pape Matar Sarr and Oliver Skipp during their 1-0 defeat against AC Milan in the 1st leg of the Champions League Round of 16.

With Pierre Emile-Hojbjerg being suspended and Rodrigo Bentancur being injured, the youthful pair are the only available options at Antonio Conte’s disposal to field against Stefano Pioli’s side.

Some may say that Jamie O’Hara may be being a tad harsh on Pape Matar Sarr and Oliver Skipp, who have received plenty of praise for keeping things ticking and solid for Tottenham against AC Milan.

After all, the pair broke up play on a number of occasions, whilst their passing was nailed-on for a chunk of the contest. Considering the youngsters were expected to falter against the Serie A champions, they surpassed expectations emphatically.

However, Jamie O’Hara could not disagree more, as he tweeted during Tottenham Hotspur’s Champions League tie against AC Milan, saying, “[Pape Matar] Sarr and [Oliver] Skipp in midfield, might as well turn off now.”

Harsh to say the least

Well, first things first, both did not perform to the standard where they deserved to get such blunt stick.

Secondly, even if Jamie O’Hara has criticism for the ‘really reliable’ Pape Matar Sarr and the ‘perfect’ Oliver Skipp for their displays for Tottenham against AC Milan, there’s a fine line between constructive feedback and bordering on disrespectful.

Unfortunately, the latter seems to be on show in this instance, especially considering both players are only under 22 years of age.

If anything, being overly critical of Sarr and Skipp for their showings against AC Milan for Tottenham will only push them away from embracing such big European nights, which is certainly not advisable when it comes to these two young talents.
