Sevilla are now exploring signing Clement Lenglet from Barcelona after his loan transfer to Tottenham Hotspur. He has no future in north London and an uncertain one at Camp Nou.
That is according to Mundo Deportivo, which reports that Lenglet will go back to Barcelona the moment his loan transfer with Tottenham expires. Spurs did not agree to include a buy clause in their terms with the Blaugrana. Antonio Conte is also already eying replacements.
The 27-year-old has failed to establish an essential presence at Spurs since joining in a one-season deal. Conte has only fielded Lenglet for 1,459 minutes during 20 appearances in all competitions. He has also only earned 939 from 13 Premier League outings and started 11.

Conte has left Lenglet as an unused substitute in Tottenham’s last two top-flight games, as well. The centre-back has not opened a Premier League fixture since losing 2-0 to Arsenal in the north London derby. He then played for just the final 12 minutes at Manchester City.
So, Tottenham do not plan on holding any talks with Barcelona over making Lenglet’s loan transfer permanent. But the La Liga side also do not plan on welcoming him back to Camp Nou for next term. Yet Sevilla may emerge as a solution with Los Nervionenses interested.

Sevilla eye re-signing Lenglet from Barcelona after his loan transfer to Tottenham
Sevilla are now giving thought to re-signing Lenglet from Barcelona once his loan transfer with Tottenham ends. He left the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium for Camp Nou after 18 months. The 15-cap France international featured in 73 games with the Andalusian outfit.
Lenglet enjoyed a promising start with Barcelona to see France boss Didier Deschamps call him ‘world-class’. But his levels decreased in the seasons that followed his £31.5m transfer from Sevilla in July 2018. Now, the Blaugrana have no room at the inn for the centre-back.
Xavi has moved on from Lenglet during his loan transfer with Tottenham after building his Barcelona backline with Ronald Araujo, Jules Kounde, Andreas Christensen and Eric Garcia. So, given Lenglet’s contract runs to June 2026, Barcelona hope they can now make money.
