Ray Parlour has expressed his shock on talkSPORT at what has happened to former Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at Graham Potter’s Chelsea.

The former Arsenal star cannot believe how Aubameyang is struggling at Chelsea at the moment.

Arsenal terminated the contract of the striker by mutual consent on February 2022.

Manager Mikel Arteta reportedly did not want the Gabonese star in his team any longer.

The 33-year-old subsequently joined Barcelona on a free transfer.

In the summer of 2022, Chelsea signed the £160,000-a-week (Goal) striker from Barcelona.

There is now speculation that Major League Soccer club Los Angeles FC are about to sign the former Borussia Dortmund star on a loan deal.

According to Le 10 Sport, the striker is on his way to Los Angeles FC in MLS.

The striker has made four starts and seven substitute appearances in the Premier League for the Blues so far this season.

The 33-year-old has scored one goal in those games.

Aubameyang has scored two goals and provided two assists in six UEFA Champions League games for the Blues so far this campaign.

The striker joined Chelsea when Thomas Tuchel was the manager of the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners.

Aubameyang and Tuchel worked together at Dortmund.

Under Potter, the former Arsenal striker has really failed to make an impact and was even taken off after coming on as a substitute in one match this season.

Ray Parlour on former Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s Chelsea situation

Parlour said: “It’s remarkable what’s happened, it looks like he’s got no confidence whatsoever.

“[MLS] would probably suit him – a little bit of razzmatazz, all the American fans will like something different and certainly he can score goals in MLS all day long.

“Chelsea, it hasn’t worked out, Graham Potter probably knows he’s not part of the club’s future, with the signings they’ve bought in as well he’s not going to get a game, so I can certainly see that deal going through.

“It’s all down to Aubameyang, if he doesn’t want to go and is happy where he is, he won’t go, he just has to get on with it until the end of the season.”
