Paul Merson has written in SportsKeeda that Chelsea striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is finished at Stamford Bridge, amid claims that Aston Villa manager Unai Emery wants to sign him in the summer of 2023.
The former Arsenal and Aston Villa star has said that Aubameyang was an unbelievable player at the Gunners.
However, according to the Sky Sports pundit, the 33-year-old Gabonese striker is finished at Chelsea.
Merson has noted how Chelsea manager Graham Potter brought Aubameyang on for Raheem Sterling in the fifth minute in the Premier League game against Manchester City at Stamford Bridge in January.
Potter took off the former Arsenal striker midway through the second half.
Last month, The Athletic reported that Aston Villa manager Unai Emery is ‘fond’ of the striker and could try to bring him to Villa Park in the summer of 2023.
However, according to Le 10 Sport, the striker is on his way to Los Angeles FC in Major League Soccer.
Aubameyang joined Chelsea from Barcelona in the summer of 2022.

The striker has made four starts and seven substitute appearances in the Premier League for the Blues so far this season.
The 33-year-old has scored one goal in those games.
Aubameyang has scored two goals and provided two assists in six UEFA Champions League games for the Blues so far this campaign.
Paul Merson on Aston Villa-linked Chelsea striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
Merson wrote: “When Aubameyang came on as a substitute and was taken off, that was the end for him at Chelsea.
“It’s all right when you do it to a youngster but when you do it to an experienced player, there’s no way back.
“Don’t get me wrong – he’s been an unbelievable player over the years, but he wasn’t what Chelsea needed at the time.”
