Jose Enrique has told Arsenal on Instagram ‘don’t get involved’ in trying to sign West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice if their London rivals Chelsea also want him.
The former Liverpool left-back added that ‘there is no financial play’ for Chelsea, after they spent nearly half a billion on players following Todd Boehly’s takeover from Roman Abramovich.
That included the hijacked transfer of Mykhailo Mudryk, who was all but destined to join Arsenal, until Chelsea came wading in with their big lumps of cash.

Well, the London duo could be involved in another transfer tussle in the summer because it has been suggested that Declan Rice is Mikel Arteta’s top target.
The England international is a boyhood Chelsea fan and he came through the ranks at Chelsea, before being released and joining the Hammers, but those at the Bridge now want him back.
Nonetheless, when Jose Enrique was reacting to reports that Arsenal are confident of beating Chelsea to Rice’s signature, he issued this response in the comments section, as posted on Football Daily’s Instagram post.
“Arsenal, if Chelsea is trying to sign him, then don’t get involved because there is no financial play for them,” said Enrique.
COVER FOR PARTEY
As the games tick by, Thomas Partey is becoming more and more important for Arsenal.
He is perhaps the one player fans don’t want to get injured because the drop-off from the Ghana star and the next one off the block is pretty big.
And whilst Declan Rice won’t arrive this month, come the summer, if Arteta can also work with the Englishman, then it elevates Arsenal’s squad by a few levels.
