Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur and Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United will reportedly miss out on Andreas Christensen to Barcelona.
Well-known and well-respected journalist Fabrizio Romano has reported on Twitter that Chelsea central defender Christensen has turned down proposals from clubs in England.
Romano has claimed that the 25-year-old central defender is now really close to joining Barcelona on a free transfer in the summer transfer window.
The Denmark international is out of contract at Chelsea at the end of the Eason.
According to FC Inter News last month, Newcastle have offered Christensen a four-year contract.
The Daily Star reported in December that Tottenham, Manchester United and Manchester City all are interested in Christensen.
Last month, Calciomercato.it reported that Spurs have contacted the defender’s agent to explore his situation.

Andreas Christensen disappointment for Tottenham and Newcastle
In our view, missing out on Christensen will be a disappointment for Newcastle and Tottenham.
We all know how good the defender is.
After all, you do not play for Chelsea if you are not good.
Moreover, Christensen will be a free agent in the summer transfer window and is still only 25.
There is more to come from Christensen, and it seems that his best years will be at Barcelona, not Tottenham or Newcastle.
