Tottenham Hotspur have just held fresh talks with the agent of Chelsea centre-half Andreas Christensen over a potential summer transfer at the personal request of Antonio Conte.
That’s according to Calciomercato.it, who report Spurs have contacted the Denmark star’s agent to explore his situation. The 25-year-old is out of contract at Stamford Bridge at the end of the season and remains no closer to extending his deal signed back in January 2018.
Christensen put pen to paper on a four-year extension whilst Conte was stood at the helm in west London. The 54-cap defender established himself as a firm favourite of the Italian coach, making 27 Premier League appearances and helping to win the FA Cup that season.

Conte remains a big admirer of Christensen and is now keeping close tabs on his talks over a new contract. He also likes another of his former Blues enforcers in Antonio Rudiger. But the German – also on Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid’s lists – has very high demands.
Tottenham hold fresh agent talks for Chelsea ace Christensen at Conte’s request
Conte has asked that Tottenham explore a free transfer for Christensen while he is yet to sign a new Chelsea contract. But Bayern Munich have also contacted the 6 ft 2 star’s agent.
Additionally, Christensen still gives a priority to extending his time at Stamford Bridge after 10-years with the club. He is no longer a mainstay of the Blues’ line-up, but has the respect of Thomas Tuchel. The German hailed him as ‘super talented’, via beIN Sports, last year.

But Christensen risks pricing himself out of a new contract with Chelsea, amid Tottenham’s transfer interest. Sport1 reported in January while citing talks with Bayern that the centre-back is demanding the west Londoners double his €100k-a-week (£83k-a/w) salary to stay.
Interest from elsewhere should strengthen the defender’s argument over his worth. But it remains to be seen what impact Spurs losing at Burnley has on Conte’s future at the helm.
