Arsenal and Liverpool will be keeping a keen eye on Bayern Munich after one star wanted by both clubs held talks over his future.
As the two closest contenders to challenge Manchester City for their Premier League title, Arsenal and Liverpool will want to make the most out of this summer’s transfer window.
Yet, it has been a relatively quiet window for both clubs so far. Arsenal have added David Raya and Riccardo Calafiori to their squad while Liverpool are only club in the Premier League yet to complete a signing.
As revealed by HITC, Arsenal and Liverpool are in the race to sign Joshua Kimmich this summer, with both clubs looking to bolster their midfield options.
Kimmich was looking for a way out of the club under Thomas Tuchel, and it is understood that he is still open to exploring his summer options even with Vincent Kompany now at the helm.

Bayern Munich hold crunch Joshua Kimmich talks
With Joshua Kimmich‘s eyes wandering towards an exit, Bayern Munich director Max Eberl revealed in February that he would hold talks with the 29-year-old over his future.
As reported by German outlet Bild, Eberl has now held those crunch talks with Kimmich.
“Joshua has been an important player for us and should continue to be so in the future. He may have had a time recently that was not quite so satisfactory.
“But I think his perception does not do justice to what he actually has. The first conversation we had after the European Championships was very positive and open on both sides. We’ll see how it goes. But the fact is that Joshua should play an important role for us.”
Arsenal and Liverpool transfer news
Eberl’s comments suggest a contract extension could be on the horizon for Kimmich – but both clubs will continue to follow updates in case a deal becomes possible.

Kimmich was on Arsenal’s radar as a potential midfield target, but the Gunners are closing in on a deal for Mikel Merino which will address their needs.
As for Liverpool, their priorities lie elsewhere with interest in signing a new forward this summer. They remain interested in Pedro Neto.
