- EXCLUSIVE from Graeme Bailey
The 2024 summer transfer is open and Mikel Arteta is hoping to find those extra small margins to help Arsenal win the Premier League title.
HITC understands that Arsenal have joined the chase for Bayern Munich’s versatile superstar, Joshua Kimmich.
The 29-year-old has just one year left on his current deal and the German player has kept Bayern Munich at arm’s length when it comes to discussing a new contract.
Previously, Joshua Kimmich was not looking to continue at Bayern whilst Thomas Tuchel remained in charge, but his departure made it more likely he could stay.
However, even with Vincent Kompany coming in – HITC understands that Kimmich’s stance is that he is open to exploring his options, which include a possible move to England and the Premier League.

Liverpool, Manchester City and Arsenal’s transfer interest in Joshua Kimmich
HITC has previously revealed the interest from Manchester City – where Pep Guardiola is more than open to linking up with Kimmich, who regards the Spaniard as one of the most important people in his footballing career.
His first-ever Bundesliga title came in the 2015/16 campaign when Guardiola was in charge, which included winning the German Cup and it kick-started a trophy-winning career for the then-rising youngster.
Kimmich has now won an amazing 20 club trophies, including the European Cup and he is still at the peak of his powers.
Liverpool have also maintained a firm interest in the Germany international in recent years, and now Arsenal are considering throwing their hat into the ring to land him.
Kimmich, who is also wanted in Barcelona by Hansi Flick, is currently starring at Euro 2024 for his nation, with the hosts comfortably through to the knockout stages and currently unbeaten from their opening three matches.

Thomas Partey sale could help Arsenal sign Joshua Kimmich
Arsenal are looking for a new midfielder and HITC previously confirmed Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi was their top choice, but he has shown little desire to leave San Sebastian to this point.
Arsenal refused to resurrect their interest in Douglas Luiz, whilst the prices of Joao Neves and Bruno Guimaraes – who they hugely admire, look to have deterred those avenues for now.
However, Arsenal have been made aware of Kimmich’s situation and HITC understands they have shown some interest in the player who can operate as a number six and a right-back.
HITC understands that the London club are looking to off-load Thomas Partey this summer – which will help free up space for a new name in midfield such as Kimmich.
Arsenal have already cut ties with Mohammed Elneny and Albert Sambi Lokonga is also set to be sold.
