- EXCLUSIVE from Graeme Bailey
HITC understands that Joshua Kimmich is keen to move to the Premier League this summer, with Manchester City, Liverpool, Manchester United, Newcastle United and Tottenham admirers.
The outstanding German international has endured a tough campaign under Thomas Thuchel at Bayern Munich, but even before this season, he was thinking about his future and a possible move to the Premier League.
The 29-year-old has long been in Manchester City’s thinking and HITC understands they are keeping close tabs on his situation and there could be room in their squad, with Kalvin Phillips’s likely summer exit. It is also understood that Mateo Kovacic could be heading to Saudi Arabia.
HITC Football understands that Joshua Kimmich has many admirers in England, not just Manchester City, but with Liverpool, Manchester United, Newcastle United and Tottenham also monitoring his situation.
The versatile footballer, who can operate as a right-back or in the middle of the park, has only completed 90 minutes on ten occasions in the Bundesliga this season, as Bayern, led by England captain Harry Kane, try to chase down the flying machine of Bayer Leverkusen.
HITC have also previously revealed that Harry Kane remains on Manchester United’s radar this summer, as they search for a new striker.
Bayern Munich’s hierarchy understands Joshua Kimmich’s frustration under Thomas Tuchel, but new board director Max Eberl is hoping the club’s new head coach – when confirmed, will change the player’s mind on his future, as the club would like him to stay.
Max Eberl said at the press conference unveiling his arrival: “Joshua Kimmich is a senior international and has had an incredible journey. He has mentality and quality. Of course, we look at all the players. I’m looking forward to getting to know the guys and talking to them. Football is communication. We want to put everything into the remaining three months of the season, and then we’ll see what comes out of it.”

Joshua Kimmich’s footballing CV
A player with immense quality, outstanding footballing brain, durability, toughness and versatility, the Premier League stage would be welcoming to a player like Kimmich.
His footballing CV speaks for itself. Before the age of 30, he already has eight titles to his name, but his greatest night would have come in 2020 when he lifted the Champions League in Lisbon.

If a move to the Premier League materialises in the summer, then there is no doubt his next club will be greatly rewarded with his qualities and experience.
