Tottenham Hotspur forward Dejan Kulusevksi has opened up about his experiences of playing a new position this summer which could hint at a new signing.

Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur have been busy in the summer transfer window with the Lilywhites completing three key signings this summer.

Postecoglou confirmed the signing of Yang Min-Hyuk, whilst the Lilywhites have also signed Archie Gray and Swedish attacking midfielder Lucas Bergvall from the clutches of Barcelona.

Whilst signing new players will be key this summer, some members of the first team squad will have to step up in the team with Swedish winger Dejan Kulusevski certainly one of these names.

Dejan Kulusevski opens up on position change

The Swedish winger scored eight goals and provided three assists in the Premier League last season but more will be needed from the former Juventus ace.

With Harry Kane departing the club for Bayern Munich last summer, the emphasis has been on Kulusevski, Richarlison and Heung Min-Son to score goals in the Englishman’s absence.

For Kulusevski, however, the Swede will be getting used to a new position with the winger lining up as an attacking midfielder during pre-season.

“I think last year was the first time I played as a number 10 in the Premier League, so people could see what I can do from that position,” he told Football.London.

“This upcoming season, I’ve been playing in the middle in training sessions and in the beginning of the games, but I also know that sometimes I will have to play other roles, and I will have to be prepared to do everything.”

“Because ultimately, the only goal is to win, so it doesn’t matter where you play, you just have to do what’s best for the team always.”

Kulusevski position change could hint at Federico Chiesa signing

The Swede shifting from the right-hand side to an attacking midfield position may well hint at what Spurs have planned for the summer.

HITC reported yesterday that Federico Chiesa is to hold talks with Juventus amid interest from Tottenham and Newcastle United.

Perhaps this development hints at a Tottenham push for the Italian international, who will be allowed to leave Turin this summer if the club and player cannot come to an agreement over a new deal at the club.
