Tottenham could now be helped in their pursuit of Pedro Porro by Hector Bellerin – who Arsenal sold in 2022.
What’s the story?
Well, Sporting Lisbon have identified Bellerin as an option to replace Porro, who is currently the subject of a £40m transfer pursuit from Tottenham.
David Ornstein of The Athletic believes negotiations between Tottenham and Sporting Lisbon are ongoing, although there is yet to be a breakthrough in talks.
Fabrizio Romano adds that Porro has agreed to join Spurs, so it seems as if the north Londoners just need to strike an agreement with Sporting Lisbon over a fee, and hope they find a replacement, before the deal goes through.
Ornstein believes Bellerin is open to joining the Portuguese giants having struggled for game time at Barcelona this season, where he has made just one start in La Liga.

Sporting Lisbon initially tried to sign Tariq Lamptey from Brighton as they prepare for life after Porro, although Brighton are refusing to sell the Ghana international.
As things stand, there has been no contact between Sporting Lisbon and Barcelona for Bellerin, although his openness to the move could now see things start to develop.
Pedro Porro to Tottenham latest
According to Romano, Spurs hope to complete the signing of Porro this weekend.
The north Londoners have allowed the Spain international to take part in the Taça da Liga final today between Sporting Lisbon and FC Porto, in similar fashion to Manchester United’s deal to sign Bruno Fernandes.
As aforesaid, Porro is keen on joining Tottenham, so it seems as if the structure of the payment terms just needs to be ironed out before the right-back heads to north London for his medical.
Be sure to keep an eye on this intriguing situation, as the saga is developing on a daily basis.
