Fabrizio Romano has claimed on Twitter that Tottenham Hotspur have agreed personal terms with Cristian Romero.

The well-known and well-respected journalist has said Tottenham have agreed a contract with the Atalanta central defender until June 2026.

Spurs and Atalanta are now locked in talks over a transfer fee.

Cristian Romero to Tottenham happening?

There is a distinct possibility that Romero could join Tottenham from Atalanta this summer, based on Romano’s comments.

Of course, Spurs and Atalanta still need to agree on a fee, and that could take time.

What is clear is that the Argentina international central defender wants to join Tottenham.

Atalanta will now have to trigger the option to make the youngster’s loan deal permanent from Juventus and then sell him to Spurs.

It must be very exciting for Spurs fans at the moment.

Tottenham’s new director of football, Fabio Paratici, seems to have already wrapped up deals for two players, and now a third one could be on his way to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Atalanta goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini has completed the first part of his medical ahead of a move to Spurs, according to Tuttomercatoweb.

A deal to bring in Bryan Gil from Sevilla is also virtually done, according to media repots.

It now seems that Romero could now move to Tottenham this summer as well.
