Nuno Espirito Santo believes Bryan Gil will add another dimension to the Tottenham Hotspur attack once his transfer from Sevilla is complete, according to The Athletic.

Managing Director Fabio Paratici is working to bring Gil to north London, having admired the Spanish talent for some time. A deal for the 20-year-old to move to England is all but done, with Erik Lamela heading the other way.

Tottenham will pay Sevilla €25m (£21.5m) plus Lamela for Gil, as Paratici ramps up the rebuild of Nuno’s side. TuttoMercatoWEB also note Spurs will hand the youngster a €2.5m-a-year (£42k-p/w) contract, almost half the £80k-p/w Lamela currently takes home.

Nuno is excited to soon have Gil on board for his first year in charge at Tottenham. The former Wolves coach feels the Sevilla forward, who is at the Olympics representing Spain, can add another dimension to the Spurs frontline.

Gil is an old-school winger in his nature by being left-footed and operating on the left-wing. His best trait is also the U21 international’s ability to beat opposition players on the ground and run at defenders.

The Cadiz native’s form in La Liga last term also helped build a reputation as a fearless and direct runner. Gil is also held in very high regard in his homeland, as one of Spain’s most exciting young prospects.

Nuno is now eager to see Gil make the switch to the Premier League and boost Tottenham’s offensive weaponry. The Sevilla product, who has three senior international caps, offered four goals and three assists in La Liga last term while on loan at basement boys Eibar.

Can Gil give Nuno an extra dimension at Tottenham?

Tottenham will likely not expect Gil to hit the ground running on the same level as Son Heung-Min, for example, but Nuno and Paratici clearly have high hopes for his future.

Gil being a left-footed, left-winger will also offer Nuno an extra dimension at Tottenham, especially with Lamela leaving. The Argentine is Spurs’ only natural left-footed winger at present. But Gil can take some of the burden away from Sergio Reguilon on that side.

Gil can make overlapping runs with Tottenham’s fellow forwards and deliver teasing crosses from dangerous positions. He will also be able to run directly at full-backs to stretch the field for Son and Harry Kane to find space, which Nuno will want Spurs to exploit.
