HITC understands that Spanish giants Real Madrid are moving fast to secure their top defensive target on a free transfer.

During the summer transfer window, Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid were left frustrated with Manchester United signing Leny Yoro from Lille, who was Los Blancos’ top defensive target.

Yoro suffered a metatarsal problem for United during pre-season, which is likely to keep him out until October or November in what is a big blow for Erik ten Hag’s Red Devils.

As for Real Madrid, they remain keen on a defender and HITC understands they’re making a move for Bayern Munich’s Alphonso Davies, who is now in the final year of his contract in Bavaria.

Real Madrid want to tie down Alphonso Davies

HITC understands that Real Madrid are ready to tie down Alphonso Davies to a pre-contract early in the New Year, as they look to fend off interest from the Premier League.

Davies has rejected numerous offers from Bayern Munich to renew his deal with the German giants. Now, with less than 12 months left on his contract, the Canadian is in a position to sign a pre-contract agreement in January with the club of his choice.

Real Madrid held talks with Bayern in the summer but refused to meet their asking price and they made it clear to Davies a deal was waiting for him in the Spanish capital.

Despite a deal to take the former Vancouver Whitecaps ace being there waiting for Davies to sign, HITC understands that there is indeed Premier League interest in the Canadian.

Manchester City and Arsenal keen on Alphonso Davies

During the summer, we reported that Manchester City and Chelsea were keen on Davies but we now understand that Mikel Arteta’s side are also keen on the Canadian.

City and Arsenal are both huge admirers of Davies and are contemplating making him an offer, knowing the chance to sign a player of his quality for nothing is too good to turn down.

Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United have all shown an interest in Davies at some point in the last 18-months and could also make an offer.

Despite this, HITC understands that these interested Premier League clubs are all of the belief that the Canadian will move to Real Madrid but nevertheless, these sides want to give the Bayern Munich ace something to think about.
