Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou has given an update on Son Heung-Min’s contract situation at the club.
Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur have had a very promising pre-season so far with the Lilywhites playing some exciting football.
New signing Archie Gray has impressed Spurs fans during pre-season, with his performances praised whilst Lucas Bergvall has had moments of promise.
Teenage forward Mikey Moore has been compared to Lamine Yamal with the 16-year-old making quite the impact for the Lilywhites and Moore could be the man to fix a key problem under Postecoglou.
With a raft of promising young players coming through at the club, Spurs must hold onto their experienced players, including Son Heung-Min.

Postecoglou provides Heung-Min Son contract update
Back in 2021, Son penned a new four-year deal that would keep him at the club until 2025 but the South Korean has approached the final year of that deal.
There has been no sign of a new deal in the offing for Son and Postecoglou was asked to provide an update on the future of the influential South Korean forward, who was named as club captain in Harry Kane’s absence.
“That’s not really my area,” Postecoglou told Football.London. “I’ve always, with contract situations, treated them all the same.
“Ben and Sonny are important players at the club and we’ve got a young squad. When it comes to contract matters, that will get sorted out at the appropriate time.”
There was some worry from Spurs fans that Son could leave last summer but the 32-year-old stayed at the club and has become one of the most important figures for the Lilywhites.
Son staying at Spurs has to be the priority
With such a young squad at Postecoglou’s disposal, the club must hold onto the South Korean.
Whilst a move away from the club this summer looks unlikely, with just a year left on his deal, he could depart Spurs on a free next season.
In 408 appearances for Tottenham since his move from Bayer Leverkusen, he has scored 162 goals and provided 84 assists.
Holding onto Son, who can be a key mentor to these talented younger players, may well be the most important bit of business for Postecoglou this summer.
